MILFORD, CT — Police are investigating following reports of fraud possibly using an ATM skimmer at an ATM near the Milford Green, The Milford Mirror reported.

An ATM skimmer is a device used to rip personal information from a credit card or debit card. The fraud was committed at an M&T Bank ATM.

Christopher Loh, spokesman for the bank, provided the following statement: “We are aware of customer complaints regarding fraudulent activity specific to an ATM at our Broad Street location, and we are fully cooperating with law enforcement to investigate the matter. Once notified, our team immediately took the ATM in question out of service. Any customer who has been a victim of fraud will be fully compensated. We take the privacy and security of our customers seriously, and we encourage our customers to regularly monitor their accounts and notify us of any suspicious activity.”

Three thefts totaling $3,300 have been reported. The victims reported that large sums of money were withdrawn from their accounts.
