Big Development Approved For Downtown Milford

The project is expected to lead to a grocery store, parking and apartments. Here are more specifics about the development.

MILFORD, CT — On Monday news surfaced that popular pizzeria, Francos Pizza on River Street was being displaced soon for a new downtown development project. And this week the Board of Aldermen approved the project including plans for a retail store, underground parking garage and apartments at 44-64 River Street, according to the Milford Mirror.

Metro Star Properties LLC and Robert Smith are the developer. Plans include a three-story building, which includes 50 apartments, underground parking garage and a retail anchor store, which many officials hope is a small grocery store. About 200 parking spaces will be added.

Mayor Ben Blake said the project is good for the downtown area, the Mirror reports. The project won't break ground for a year likely.
