Boys and Girls Club of Milford, CT receives funding for new facility

The new clubhouse facility will allow the Boys and Girls Club of Milford to accommodate additional members.

The Boys and Girls Club of Milford was awarded $1.1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending to assist with the construction of a new clubhouse facility located at 0 Tudor Road. The City of Milford purchased 0 Tudor Road in 2020 and further leased the building to the Boys and Girls Club of Milford in 2023. This crucial partnership between the Boys & Girls Club of Milford and the City of Milford is pivotal to the success of the creation of the new facility.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the partnership we have with the Boys and Girls Club of Milford. The Boys & Girls Club plays an instrumental role in the lives of so many Milford students and families. I’m excited for the new facility,” said Milford Mayor Anthony S. Giannattasio.

The new clubhouse facility will allow the Boys and Girls Club of Milford to accommodate additional members and meet the needs of the growing, diverse community, as well as expand programming and activities. The Club will continue to offer educational opportunities, and most importantly, positive social connections with the Milford community.

“The Club staff and supporters always dreamed of having a state-of-the-art clubhouse. Thanks to support from the City of Milford and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, we are finally able to see this dream come to fruition,” said Megan Altomare, Executive Director, Boys and Girls Club of Milford.

The Boys and Girls Club of Milford helps young people of all backgrounds develop the qualities they need to become responsible citizens and leaders, while giving them a sense of belonging. The club offers a safe space for children to learn and grow, all while having fun in the process. Currently, over 1,200 children utilize programs and activities offered by the Boys and Girls Club of Milford.
