Breaking News: Route 1 Bridge Connecting Milford and Stratford is Closed

Update 10 p.m. The bridge is now fully operational and the accident has been cleared. There are reports of multiple injuries as a result of an accident. We will continue to update this story. 

Original post: A Patch.com reader sent these photos taken at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, which shows numerous emergency vehicles on the Route 1 bridge connecting Milford and Stratford over the Housatonic River.

Currently the bridge is blocked off by emergency personnel.

We are checking with emergency responders to see what they were responding to on the bridge and we will update this story.
