MILFORD, CT — The family of a 26-year-old dental student is suing Yale New Haven Health, claiming the care provided at Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus was inadequate.

His condition deteriorated, and he was transferred to the ICU. early the next morning, Hylton experienced "seizure like activity, vomited, became bradycardic (slow heart rate) and code was called," according to the suit, which was first reported by The Hartford Courant.

Hylton was intubated but efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. He was declared dead by a tele-health provider. Hylton's death was the result of a "culture of inattention and substandard care" and of the hospital's negligence, the suit claims.
