Police said two people have been arrested and one man is facing an arson charge.

MILFORD, CT — Two New Haven men, Johnnie McFadden, 35, and Gary Brown, 35, both of Truman Street, have been charged after a car was intentionally set on fire in the rear of the old K-Mart shopping center complex, Milford police said.

Both McFadden and Brown were arrested on warrants last week. At 6:25 a.m. on Feb. 28 a 911 call was received by Milford Fire reporting a car fire in the rear of the shopping center located at 489 Bridgeport Ave., police said.

"After the fire was extinguished, it was learned that the vehicle owner Gary Brown had just reported the vehicle stolen to New Haven Police less than an hour prior. Milford Police Detective Gallagher responded and conducted an investigation which led to arrest warrants being issued for McFadden and the vehicle’s owner, Gary Brown," police said.
