Cat Rescued But Other Animals Perish In Milford House Fire

Firefighters extinguished the blaze Sunday evening. The fire is under investigation.

MILFORD, CT — A fire tore through a Milford home on Sunday evening, according to fire officials.

The Milford Fire Department received 911 calls reporting smoke coming from the back of a two-story home on Pond Point Avenue at 7:14 p.m.

Crews quickly stretched a hose line, gained access to the home's interior, and extinguished the fire.

No one was at home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters saved a cat. However, "other animals were later discovered and determined to be deceased," fire officials said.
