Milford Native Christy Carlson Romano Shares Major Health News
She made the announcement in an emotional social media video.
MILFORD, CT — Actor Christy Carlson Romano said in an Instagram video this week that she tested positive in a cancer screening.
Romano, 41, a Milford native who now lives in Texas, is best known for her roles on Disney Channel shows "Even Stevens" and "Kim Possible."
Romano said she and her husband both recently had cancer screenings due to her family's medical history.

"My husband's came back completely negative," she said. "Mine did not (come) back negative."
Romano said she will have a PET scan later this week.

"I'm nervous and a bit scared (heck who wouldn't be!)" she wrote in the post.
Last year, Romano was injured in a shooting accident. She said she had taken her husband to shoot clay pigeons as a birthday present. Another person there "unsafely fired in the wrong direction," injuring Romano.

When she received the cancer news, Romano said she was "in disbelief," as she had recently begun filming and was "so happy to be back on set."
Romano, who also hosts the podcast "Vulnerable," said in the video that she is working on a memoir.
