"I got shot in the face and lived to tell the tale," she said in an Instagram video.
She wrote that she had taken her husband to shoot clay pigeons as a birthday present. Another person there "unsafely fired in the wrong direction," injuring Romano.

She was hit in five places, one of those less than an inch from her eye. One fragment got lodged behind her eye and is too risky to remove surgically at this time. Romano said she can still see normally.
The fact that one fragment struck the bone in her forehead instead of an area that could have led to a brain injury is one of the many things Romano said was fortunate.
"Miracles happen, that's the truth," she said.
It took six days for her to begin feeling "like herself," she said in an Instagram Stories video. She went to a Valentine's Day dinner with her husband, Brendan Rooney, seven days after the accident.
Romano expressed gratitude for all those who helped, singling out the first responders as well as her family.
"I love my medical team so much," she said.
Romano has also received many supportive messages since the incident, which she said she is thankful for.
She's recounting her recovery and sharing it on social media because she said she doesn't want to run from the incident and pretend it didn't happen.
"I want to move on from it, use it as a source of growth and, like, stronger faith, everything positive that can come from this," she said.
Romano is known for her work on Disney Channel shows "Even Stevens" and "Kim Possible."
In 2016, she made her directorial debut with the film "Christmas All Over Again," which includes shots of the Milford Green.
In January , Romano announced the launch of her new dress line from Ivy City. The "dreamy little black dresses" are inspired by her favorite romantic movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
