Clerk Refuses Hungry Robber's Demands, Tells Him to Leave Milford Business

The suspect, who is still-at-large, demanded money or he'd shoot, police said, and the clerk ended up locking the suspect in the store.

MILFORD, CT - Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who allegedly attempted to rob the Mobil on the Run Gas Station earlier this year.

Police say on Jan. 31 at 3:45 a.m., a male entered the 1354 Boston Post Road business in an attempted robbery of the store.

The subject told the clerk to “give me all your money, or I’ll shoot you,” and had his right hand in his pocket as if he was holding a weapon, police said in a news release.

The clerk refused him and locked the male in the store at which time the subject told the clerk he was hungry and wanted something to eat, police said.

The clerk unlocked the doors and then told the male to leave, police said.

The subject left the establishment and walked to an adjacent parking lot where he left the area in a small light grey sedan, possibly a Honda heading west bound on the Boston Post Road, police said.

The subject was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. He is described as white or Hispanic male in his 50’s or 60’s approximately 5’4” tall.
