Community Rallies to Help Milford Teen, 14, Battling Cancer

The local teen will spend the next year undergoing surgeries and receiving chemotherapy after a recent diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma.

Milford, CT - Sean Cleary, 14, was about to embark on his high school career at Joseph A. Foran High School in the fall when he became diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, which is a type of tumor that forms in bone or soft tissue.

Sean is now about to embark on up to a year of primary inpatient chemotherapy and surgeries to remove the tumor with treatment at Yale New Haven-Hospital, according to a GoFundMe campaign established by Sean’s friends.

“Sean is a handsome, active teenager who participates in football, CrossFit of Milford and was looking forward to starting his freshman year at Foran High School. This fundraiser was created to offset cost of medical treatment, supplies and insurance/hospital bills. Most importantly, positive thoughts and prayers for Sean and his mother Trish through this journey,” the GoFundMe states.
