The company did say Friday it may not have the entire restoration completed before midnight.
The 3,682 figure represents a little less than 1 percent of the entire state. Communities with the most outages include: Cheshire, 759, Greenwich, 651, Ridgefield, 245, Stamford, 140, and West Hartford with 120 outages.
Eversource Update:
With more than 700 line and tree crews working to clear trees and repair damage to the electric system from Wednesday night’s devastating storm, Eversource has restored power to more than 123,000 customers across its service area, officials said Friday afternoon in a news release.
Eversource crews from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as contractors from New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada are working alongside Connecticut crews to expedite power restoration. So far, they have replaced almost 100 broken poles, 30,000 feet of overhead line and removed more than 70 large trees.
“While we’ve made great progress getting power back on for our customers, we remain focused on those still affected,” said Peter Clarke, Senior Vice President of Emergency Preparedness at Eversource in a statement. “We’ve redirected additional crews to areas that still have significant damage, including Fairfield County and the ‘Quiet Corner,’ and continue working non-stop.”
With approximately 6,000 customers out at noon, Eversource remains on track to have the large majority of its restoration wrapped by 11:30 tonight. Along with the outage map on www.eversource.com, a list is now available on the website with expected restoration times posted by town.
Many customers currently without power may have it restored more quickly than the published times as the repair work continues. Any customers experiencing new power outages should report them to Eversource at 1-800-286-2000, or by using the outage reporting form on the company’s website.
Original post: Eversource has pledged to restore power to 99 percent of the almost 90,000 Connecticut residents who were without power after Wednesday’s major storm that downed power lines and trees across the state.
As of 10:45 a.m. Friday, there are still 7,311 residents without power including 1,009 in Greenwich and 746 in New Canaan. Newtown and Ridgefield also have a combined 800 power outages. (See below for a town-by-town look at outages across Connecticut.)

United Illuminating Co. is reporting no power outages as of now, and at their height they had reported close to 4,000 outages.
Governor Dannel P. Malloy on Thursday declared a limited State of Emergency to help accelerate power restoration. The declaration is necessary to assist out-of-state utility crews in their efforts to help power restoration in Connecticut.
“This declaration is necessary to allow utility crews from Canada to enter the United States and help with power restoration in the state,” Governor Malloy said in a statement released by his office.
