CT Boy's Reaction to Toys R' Us Closure is Priceless: WATCH

In the video, the 5-year-old Milford child just can't be consoled about his favorite store closing.

MILFORD, CT — It appears that Max Fischetti, 5, takes the lyrics, "I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid" very seriously. When Max heard that his favorite store, Toys R' Us, would likely be closing soon he had a reaction that likely sums up the feelings of kids across the country.

He immediately can be heard bursting into tears at the news and when he was told that other retailers sell toys he screams, "I only want Toys R' Us." He pleads with his mother to buy him ten toys from the store before it closes. And again when a sibling tries to comfort him that there are in fact other stores that sell toys, Max wanted no part of it, screaming "no, no, no."

The company confirmed reports Thursday that it will be "winding down" operations and sell or close 735 U.S. stores. The announcement comes about six weeks after Toys R Us confirmed that it would close about 180 of its U.S. stores, including two in Connecticut. Now it is very likely all nine Connecticut locations will close in the coming months including the Old Gate Lane location in Milford.

Max's mother, Terri Fischetti, said her son just turned 5-years-old and she isn't surprised by his reaction to the news.

"I wasn't surprised by his reaction. Max is an avid lego builder and Batman lover so he loves wandering the aisles and looking at all the new toys. I knew he wouldn't take the news well. Max and his sister Mya will definitely miss going there," Terri said.
