CT Coronavirus Updates: Latest Town-By-Town Cases As Numbers Rise

CONNECTICUT — Coronavirus cases in Connecticut rose to 3,557 Wednesday, officials said, while deaths increased to 85 and hospitalizations hit 766.

In a 24-hour span, cases increased by 429, deaths spiked by 16 and hospitalizations rose to 158, officials said Wednesday.

This is the county breakdown of coronavirus cases:

Of the dead, 47 were over the age of 80; 23 were between the ages of 70 and 79; five were between the ages of 60 and 69; four were between the ages of 50 and 59; four were between the ages of 40 and 49; one was between the ages of 30 and 39; and one was a newborn.

A total of 1,836 women have contracted the coronavirus, compared 1,706 men. Of the dead, 47 were men and 38 were women, according to state health officials.

Nursing home positive cases

Among 216 nursing homes in Connecticut, 36 (17 percent) have had at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. A total of 124 nursing home residents with COVID-19 have been identified.
