CT Weather: Henri Leads To Heavy Rain, Flooding Concerns Monday
Storm damage reports, rain and wind totals from Tropical Storm Henri have been released by the National Weather Service.
CONNECTICUT — The remnants of Tropical Storm Henri will continue to pose problems for Connecticut as a hazardous weather outlook has been issued due to ongoing flooding concerns Monday.
A flood watch has been issued and is in effect through late tonight for the state. The remnants of Henri have stalled near Connecticut, which is leading to heavy rain bands moving through on Monday. Fortunately, the mass power outages initially feared never came to fruition on Sunday, but the rain and flooding remain major concerns on Monday.
As of 8 a.m. Monday, about 8,000 people remain without power in Connecticut. Most residents should have their power restored by 6 p.m. tonight, Eversource officials have said.

For southern Connecticut, the weather service said, a "widespread 2 to 4 inches of additional rainfall is possible this afternoon. Localized higher amounts will be possible through tonight."
In northern Connecticut, the weather service said, "renewed rainfall today will bring a risk of flooding across Connecticut, Rhode Island, as well as portions of western and central Massachusetts."

The flood threat has not yet ended! With #Henri spinning just to our north, allow for occasional showers today, with the chance for a few strong thunderstorms this afternoon. Additional rainfall of generally 1-2 inches can be expected, with locally higher amounts possible. pic.twitter.com/l7soIKBVIC

DEMHS continues to monitor the impacts from Henri today as the remnants move back across the state, which could result in flash flooding. Remember, if you see standing water, turn around don’t drown! https://t.co/WTbBxYabDO
