CT Weather: Snow, Ice Won't Amount To Much Across State Saturday
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and a hazardous weather outlook for sections of the state on Saturday.
CONNECTICUT — The one change to the forecast Saturday is that the expected wintry weather impacts have actually slightly decreased for most of the state.
There was never a big expectation that the snow and sleet would add up to much, but forecasters on Friday were predicting up to a couple of inches in northern Connecticut and maybe an inch in interior sections of southern Connecticut.
It appears now that most of the state will just see a coating of snow and ice accumulation this afternoon, but this could still lead to slippery travel conditions. Areas along the immediate coast will continue to just see plain rain and possibly a few sleet pellets mixed in late this morning and early afternoon.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Litchfield County from 7 a.m. Saturday until 4 a.m. Sunday.
"Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of a coating to one inch with ice accumulations of a light glaze to up to two tenths of an inch, with the greatest ice amounts across higher elevations," the weather service said of Litchfield County.

In interior sections of Fairfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties, the weather service has issued a hazardous weather outlook on Saturday.
"A low pressure system will bring a light wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain this morning, with plain rain mixing in late this morning into this afternoon before transitioning to plain rain by late this afternoon," the weather service said concerning inland sections of southern Connecticut. "While the system has trended warmer less than an inch of sleet accumulation is possible. And freezing rain will be isolated to colder locations..."
In northern sections of the state, rain and sleet is expected to fall throughout the day and sleet could accumulate up to less than a half inch, the weather service said. The sleet will transition to all rain this evening in northern Connecticut.
On Sunday, it will be sunny later in the day with temperatures in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. It looks chilly next week but also dry from Sunday through Christmas Eve.
Good Saturday morning! Some sleet & rain falling out there! Will have to watch temps in northern areas as many are just above freezing. So a 3 degree drop could impact more areas. Not expecting much accumulation. 30s to low 40s. Let @Ash_Baylor & me know what you’re seeing! pic.twitter.com/mRjHITG38O
