CT's Weekend Weather Forecast Is Missing Something

CONNECTICUT — After what seems like an eternity, it appears our regular routine of Connecticut seeing rain on Fridays and Sundays is about to end. Rain is the missing ingredient from this weekend's weather forecast as we're finally set to enjoy some nice, spring weather on a weekend for both days.

Last Sunday on Mother's Day was just plain miserable with temps in the 40s and a cold, steady rain falling. This Sunday we can expect sunshine and temps into the 60s. (Yes, rain is forecast to move in Sunday night and into Monday).

Looking ahead at the forecast though, more rain appears on Monday, but at least the weekend looks dry except for late Sunday night. As for Thursday, it will be mostly dry with temps in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

On Friday we may see some occasional light rain drops but nothing too significant.

"There will be another chance of rain showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms near and northwest of New York City. Even warmer temperatures are forecast in the lower to upper 70s for high temperatures on Friday," the National Weather Service says. "Showers taper off Friday evening as the cold front moves across. Lows Friday night will be similar to those of the night before. Dry conditions continue into Saturday with highs forecast Saturday in the upper 60s to lower 70s."

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons says, "Intervals of sun and clouds for the day today with temperatures in the 60s. There could be a quick rainshower. Most of the time will be dry! A few scattered rain showers tomorrow and right now, Saturday is looking good! Sunday is also looking pretty good, there will be a rising level of humidity!"
