Curses, ghosts part of every Spirits of Milford Ghost Walk
Just 7 more ghost walks left in 2023's spooky season

Just seven more Spirits of Milford Ghost Walks will take place in 2023, with three happening this weekend and one on Halloween night!
Established in 2019 and now a part of many families’ annual Halloween celebrations, Spirits of Milford Ghost Walks takes up to 35 participants at a time on a lantern-lit ghost walk through downtown Milford. Combining Milford history with the macabre, stories heard during the tour include those about:
- The distraught Paugusset Indian mother who, 400 years ago, strangled and killed her two young sons near Milford Harbor
- The three deadly curses cast on Charles Island – including one by Captain Kidd
- Why almost 300-year-old Capt. Stephen Stow has never left his house on High Street
- The accused Colonial witch buried in Milford Cemetery, who does not rest in peace
Guided by long-time Milford residents Cindy Wolfe Boynton or Clay Simses, each walk follows a roughly 1.15-mile loop through downtown Milford and includes stops at some of the city's oldest (and most haunted!) homes, plus Milford Cemetery. Participants who desire also get the chance to try out paranormal investigation tools like EMF detectors and dowsing rods.
