Residents packed City Hall this weekend in order to be heard.

MILFORD, CT — A forum was held on Saturday morning about the controversial subject about the possible return of tolls in Connecticut. Milford's state delegation hosted the forum and local residents feelings on the topic was very easy to decipher.

Residents held signs and were yelling at lawmakers to vote no against tolls, the Milford Mirror reports. A vote on whether to allocate $10 million for a study on tolls is expected this week. If tolls are enacted it would be electronic and not booths.

Lawmakers said states such as New Jersey receive $2.1 billion in revenue from tolls and Connecticut currently receives nothing. Officials say Connecticut could generate $900 million in revenue from tolls with 30 percent of the revenue coming from out-of-state residents, the Mirror reports. Lawmakers also said the state needs funds to upgrade its deteriorating roads and bridges.
