Elderly Milford Couple Targeted in Distraction Burglary: Police
Milford police say when one of the victim's tried to call police one of the suspects prevented him from calling.

MILFORD, CT — An elderly Milford couple appear to be the victims of a possible distraction burglary, police said.
Police said on Oct. 4 at 11:30 a.m. police received a complaint in the area of Joyce Court.
An elderly couple had a male come to their residence stating he was from the water company and had to
check the pipes in the basement, police said.

While the couple was in the basement with the male they heard a noise upstairs. The elderly husband confronted a second male in their bedroom who had taken approximately $400 cash from the top of the dresser, police said.
When stating he was going to call the police, the male grabbed the elderly husband and sat him down in a chair preventing him from calling the police, police said. After the wife said she was calling the police the two males fled down the road and got into a waiting car that then left the area, police said.

The car was described as a black station wagon or SUV. The couple described the men as possibly Hispanic
and heard them speaking in a foreign language, police said.
