MILFORD, CT — An early morning fire severely damaged a single family house in Milford. Fire dispatchers received a 911 call at 3:55 AM reporting a fire in the single story ranch style home located at 42 Windsong Lane, said Battalion Chief Anthony Fabrizi.

The incident was reported by a neighbor who happened to see the fire from their residence. First arriving firefighting units found the rear porch area of the structure heavily involved in fire and extending into the attic area. Multiple hose lines were quickly deployed in an effort to extinguish the blaze. The fire was brought under control in 25 minutes, Fabrizi said.

Although the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire, the homeowner and his family were slated to move into the structure at the end of the week, officials said.
