Flash Flood Warning Issued: Here's What You Need To Know
BREAKING: The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Southern Fairfield County and all of New Haven County until 2:45 p.m. A separate Flood Warning has been issued for the Still River At Brookfield and the Housatonic River At Stevenson Dam.
"At 10:51 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Generally 1 to 2 inches of rain have fallen. A band of heavy rain, oriented north to south and extending through the
Atlantic Ocean, is estimated to be producing rainfall rates of 1 to 1 1/2 inches per hour. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. This rainfall will also be falling during high tide on
Long Island Sound and may exacerbate flooding at the immediate coast," the National Weather Service says.

Bridgeport, New Haven, Waterbury, Norwalk, Danbury, Meriden, Milford, Wallingford, Shelton, Naugatuck, Guilford, Southbury, New Canaan, Wolcott and Newtown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
"Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely. A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately. Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property."'

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for The Still River At Brookfield.
* From this morning until Sunday morning.
* At 8 AM Friday the stage was...10.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to reach flood stage by 11 AM Friday and forecast to continue to rise to near 15.7 feet around 8 PM Friday. The river is forecast to fall below flood stage after
5 AM Sunday.
* Impact...At 16 feet...Water gets into some buildings near the river. Many roads closed and parking lots flooded.

* From this afternoon until further notice.
* At 8 AM Friday the stage was...10.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 11 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by 12 PM Friday and continue to rise to near 13.6 feet by 1 PM Saturday.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Moderate flood stage with numerous homes in the Maples area of Shelton affected.
