Flash Flood Watch Issued For Southern Connecticut

We just can't get a break when it comes to the weather lately. Here are the updated advisories from the National Weather Service.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Southern Connecticut from now until Thursday afternoon as another heavy rainstorm will be moving through the region late tonight and Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service says, "Low pressure approaches the Tri-State Area today and passesthrough on Thursday. Rain tonight becomes potentially heavy at times Thursday morning with the potential of heavy downpours into early afternoon. A total of 1.25 to 2.50 inches of rainfall with locally higher amounts could occur with this event, however most of it falls during Thursday. Flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, as well as small streams will therefore be possible Thursday.

The NWS adds that, A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued."
