Lauren Lynn (Rascio) Escobar, age 45, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 29, 2016 in Milford CT. She is survived by her beloved husband: Robert Anthony Escobar; her loving daughters: Karina Dove and Rachel Kelly, Dear parents: Carl and Alice (Lehr) Rascio; and her brother Mark.

Born Lauren Lynn Rascio on September 10th 1970, in Ridgewood, NJ, Lauren shared her childhood with her brother and parents in North Haledon, New Jersey. Always active, Lauren grew up playing the piano, swimming, exploring the outdoors, and bringing the sunshine inside with her smile.

Throughout her life, she had an unwavering commitment to her studies. An accomplished student, she graduated from high school at Saddle River Day School in 1988. Her first year of college was held at Montclair State University, where she was interested in graphic design. However, her genuine, influential care for all those in her life led to her pursuit in nursing. Later, Lauren graduated from Bergen Community College in 1993.

Between these many milestones, Lauren fell in love. On December 17, 1989, she married high school sweetheart and other half, Robert Anthony Escobar, celebrating their honeymoon in Hawaii.

During the seven year period that Robert served in the Coast Guard, Lauren discovered her love of travel and beach-front living as she and her budding family hop-scotched across the East Coast, living in Governor's Island, Cape Cod, and Cape May. In 1994 and 1997, Lauren became a mother to her two daughters, Karina and Rachel Kelly Escobar, with whom she and her husband settled in Milford, Connecticut for her last 18 years.

Lauren always had a green thumb. During the winters, she filled her home with warmth, and a jungle's worth of plants. During the summers, her garden was always a mirror of her soul and wardrobe, blossoming with life, color, and creativity.

Throughout this entire time, she remained involved in the nursing community, bringing healing to patients in the comfort of their own homes and building career-long relationships with her patients and coworkers.

Once her children got old enough, Lauren continued to delve into her wanderlust, bringing her family along on vacations across the continental U.S., Spain, England, the Caribbean, and even to Colombia to visit extended family.

Her life was filled with adventure and joy, and she spread that to all who came in contact with her. She will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9-11 AM at Calvary Temple, 1111 Preakness Ave, Wayne, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at Calvary Temple.
