George Washington in the American Revolution

Milford Historical Society historian William Legere will present a program on General George Washington and his role, as well as the role of African American soldiers, in the American Revolution. The program, free and open to the public, is on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 19 at 7 pm at the Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church on the Green. Legere, a Milford resident, has been an educator for 25 years and is currently working on a doctoral thesis at Liberty University on the Marblehead Regiment, the most racially diverse unit in Washington’s Army.
