NEW HAVEN, CT (November 7, 2018) --Dunkin’ franchisees in the Greater New Haven area are kicking off the season of giving with their fourth annual Turkey Donut Drive. Starting Wednesday, November 7 through Sunday, November 11 at any of 34 participating Dunkin’ restaurants, guests can get a sweet treat and help a family in need: for every specialty “Turkey Donut” sold at participating restaurants, the franchisees have pledged to donate 1 pound of turkey to Connecticut Food Bank, with a goal of 7,200 pounds of turkey this year (which equals approximately 550, 14-pound turkeys).
Since 2015, Dunkin’ franchisees the D’Andrea Group have donated nearly 20,000 pounds of turkey to local families in need during the holiday season through their Turkey Donut Drive. This year, other area Dunkin’ franchisees Randy Rianhard, Laura Rianhard Soule, David Branco, Margaret Bagueiro, and Neil Angelini have joined the D’Andreas’ charitable efforts and will support the Turkey Donut Drive, increasing the number of participating Dunkin’ restaurants from 12 to 34.
“As both residents and business owners in the Greater New Haven area, we wanted to create a promotion that made it fun and easy for our guests to give back,” said Guilford-based Dunkin’ franchisee Nicole Ball, of the D’Andrea Group. “Guests can grab a cup of our freshly-brewed coffee or a delicious beverage from our espresso lineup and enjoy a cute ‘Turkey Donut,’ while also helping to put a holiday meal on the table of a neighbor in need. It’s a real win-win.”

Connecticut Food Bank CEO Bernie Beaudreau noted that the food bank distributed more than 19,000 turkeys for people to celebrate Thanksgiving last year. “The simple act of buying one of these special donuts, or even a few to share in the office will help share the bounty of the season with families who need our help,” said Beaudreau.
Specialty "Turkey Donuts" can be purchased at the following Dunkin’ restaurants between November 7 and November 11, while supplies last. For larger orders, guests are asked to give 24-hour notice by calling ahead at their desired Dunkin’ location.
