GOP Endorses Candidate For Slossberg's Senate Seat: Report

MILFORD, CT — Anthony Giannattasio, a long-time member of the Milford Board of Aldermen, pulled a bit of an upset Monday night and defeated State Rep. Pamela Staneski, R-Milford, for the right to be the GOP endorsed candidate for the 14th senatorial district seat, the Milford Mirror reports.

Giannattasio emerged over Staneski and challenger Gregorio. The vote was 13 to 12 for Giannattasio but a primary will be held involving all three candidates, so this is far from settled.

There is a lot of interest in this open senate seat because long-time Incumbent Gayle Slossberg isn't seeking reelection. The 14th senatorial district seat includes Milford, Orange, West Haven, and parts of Woodbridge.
