Southern CT Weather: Strong-To-Severe Storms Possible Thursday
Here's an updated timeline for when the region may see strong-to-severe weather Thursday night.
SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for southern Connecticut for the chance of showers and thunderstorms that may "produce wind gusts approaching severe limits and locally heavy rainfall."
The best chance for potentially severe weather is late Thursday afternoon and evening. Saturday looks great, but more showers and storms are forecast for Sunday.
WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons said to expect changing weather Thursday.

"From sun to storms today! Make sure you take your rain gear and be prepared for showers and thunderstorms coming in this afternoon," Simmons shared on social media. "Some of the storms could be severe going into the night tonight with a strong wind gust! ... it will be windy tomorrow with wind gusts over 30 mph! Awesome weather on Saturday followed by showers and storms coming back in Sunday afternoon."

Here are the forecast details for southern Connecticut:
Today: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 75. Light south wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2am and 4am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind 9 to 17 mph.
Friday Night: Clear, with a low around 50. Northwest wind 8 to 13 mph becoming light west after midnight.
Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 78.
Sunday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
