Here's How Much the Former Smiles Entertainment Site Sold For

A massive real estate transaction was recently finalized for the redeveloped retail complex.

MILFORD, CT — The former Smiles Entertainment Center site, which has been redeveloped into a REI, Panera Bread, Verizon, Sleep Number, and Pet Valu retail complex, sold for $28 million recently to a group of private investors, the Connecticut Post reports.

There is a total of 62,422-square-feet of retail in the Milford Square complex. The new owner is called RJ Milford. No major changes are planned to the complex, the Post reports. CBRE handed the transaction.

The site includes a 7-½ acre parcel. The site remained empty for several years after Smiles/Milford Amusement abruptly closed in August 2011. At the time it was believed home gaming and increased competition led Smiles to close. Milford Amusement opened in the 1980s. The facility was demolished a several years ago.
