Intoxicated Milford Man, Hits a Vehicle, Knocks Over Fire Hydrant, Cops Allege

Milford police say the incident happened Friday night.

Milford police say Gregory Brainard, 26, of Judson Place, allegedly drove intoxicated, struck a vehicle and then knocked over a fire hydrant.

Police said on Friday evening they received a complaint of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Meadowside Road and Carlson Drive.

Investigation led to the arrest of Brainard, who was found to be driving while allegedly intoxicated when he struck another vehicle in the rear and then drove off the roadway, knocking over a fire hydrant, police said. Subsequent to his arrest, an intoxilyzer test indicated he had an elevated blood alcohol content, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving a motor vehicle without insurance, traveling too fast and following too close. He was released after posting $500 bond.
