Jonathan Law High School Holds Open House

From Milford Public Schools:

MILFORD – Jonathan Law High School will be hosting an Open House for 7th and 8th grade students and their parents on Thursday, October 13th beginning at 6:00 p.m. The program will start in the auditorium with an introductory welcome presentation, followed by tours of the school, led by students and staff members. An Academic and Activity Fair will also be held in the gym throughout the evening to give future students the chance to learn about all the academic offerings as well as they myriad of activities and programs offered at Jonathan Law.

Here are a few ‘fast facts’ about the opportunities available at Jonathan Law:

• Academics, (182 courses): Our full complement of academic courses cover the traditional core subjects, along with a rich offering of music, art, business, technology, and many other electives. An expanded offering of 25Advanced Placement (AP) and UCONN /Early College Electives (ECE) courses is robust and helps students prepare for their post-secondary academic work. Strong support in the form of mathematics labs, reading labs, and faculty office hours are available to assist students of all abilities. A newly launched Career Pathways program in the field of Computer Science provides students with a way to pursue a concentration of career-based coursework. Additional pathways are in development.
• National Assessments: All students in Grades 10 and 11 sit for the PSAT; all students in Grade 11 sit for the SAT.
• Athletics, (27): A wide variety of athletic team offerings for both boys and girls; some have tryouts – others are ‘come one, come all.’ Students are encouraged to learn more about all of our teams at the Open House.
• Clubs, (34): Guaranteed to interest any student. Check out our ‘award-winning’ Key Club, National Honor Society, Fishing Club, Unified Sports, Fencing, Drama Club, Book Club, and many more. Visit with student representatives at the Open House to learn more.
