Jonathan Law Open House Scheduled In October

The program will start in the auditorium with an introductory welcome presentation, followed by tours of the school.

From Jonathan Law High School:Jonathan Law High School will be hosting an Open House for 7th and 8th grade students and their parents on Thursday, October 11th beginning at 6:00 p.m. The program will start in the auditorium with an introductory welcome presentation, followed by tours of the school, led by students and staff members. An Academic and Activity Fair will also be held in the gym throughout the evening to give future students the chance to learn about all the academic offerings as well as they myriad of activities and programs offered at Jonathan Law.

Here are a few ‘fast facts’ about the opportunities available at Jonathan Law:

n Academics, (171 courses): Our full complement of academic courses cover the traditional core subjects, along with a rich offering of music, art, business, technology, and many other electives. An expanded offering of 25 Advanced Placement (AP) and UCONN /Early College Electives (ECE) courses is robust and helps students prepare for their post-secondary academic work. Strong support in the form of mathematics labs, reading labs, and faculty office hours are available to assist students of all abilities. Three Career Pathways are also in place, defined as a concentration of related courses specific to career-based fields. These include the Computer Science pathway, an Entrepreneurship/Business Management pathway, and a Civic/Global Engagement pathway.

National Assessments: All students in Grades 10 and 11 sit for the PSAT; all students in Grade 11 sit for the SAT.

Athletics, (27): A wide variety of athletic team offerings for both boys and girls; some have tryouts – others are ‘come one, come all.’ Students are encouraged to learn more about all of our teams at the Open House.
