Kim Rose Endorsed For Another State Rep Run

Kim was nominated by Democratic Town Chairman, Rich Smith and seconded by former Milford State Representative Pete Smith.

State Representative Kim Rose was unanimously endorsed to run for the 118 th District by the Milford Democratic Town Committee, on May 24 th at the 118 th District Democratic Convention at the Milford Elks. Kim was nominated by Democratic Town Chairman, Rich Smith and seconded by former Milford State Representative Pete Smith.

Rich Smith talked about Kim being a fighter for her constituents, from stopping over development in Devon to making sure Milford has a strong voice in Hartford, Kim fights for us. In seconding Pete Smith spoke about Kim’s independence, “I work at the Capital every day and I see Kim in action. She doesn't stop. Kim is Milford's independent voice in Hartford, she understands government needs to do more with less. Kim is committed to driving efficiencies into state government. When we need a strong voice, Kim Is there for all of us!” Most recently Representative Rose worked tirelessly with legislative leadership to stop the legislation that would have studied tolls in CT. “I brought my constituents voice to Hartford and helped stop the toll proposal from moving forward, the people of the 118 th said loud and clear, “NO TOLLS”. Connecticut needs a plan to invest in our aging infrastructure and fund our transportation system, we can’t grow business without an improved transportation system but just adding tolls is not the answer,” Kim said.

Kim uses her independent voice to work with Democrats and Republicans to help Milford. She understands the rising taxes is not the answer, she voted against Gov. Malloy’s historic tax raising budget and has supported bi-partisan budgets that move Connecticut forward without raising taxes. She is a staunch defender of Milford’s neighborhoods, leading the fight to pass legislation for a moratorium on affordable housing and then successfully leading the fight to override the Governors’ veto. Kim was first elected in 2010. “It has been my honor to serve my friends and Neighbor’s in Milford’s 118 th district, which includes; Devon, Laurel Beach, Rivercliff, Meadowside, Ft. Trumbull, Downtown and West River St. I have worked hard to be available to everyone, I represent every registered voter in my district whether they are Democrats, Republicans, Independent, or Unaffiliated, we are all the voices of Milford.
