Crews extinguished a kitchen fire at an apartment building under renovation in Milford, according to fire officials.

MILFORD, CT — Crews extinguished a kitchen fire at an apartment building under renovation on Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.

The Milford Emergency Operations Center received a 911 call around 11:25 a.m. reporting smoke coming from an apartment building under renovation in the 1400 block of Naugatuck Avenue, according to Battalion Chief Jason Dombrowski.

Dombrowski said arriving crews found a small fire in the kitchen area on the first floor that was quickly extinguished without any extension to any other part of the building.

“No injuries were reported, and the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation,” Dombrowski wrote in a post on Facebook. “Stratford FD and West Haven FD were called in for mutual aid during the incident.”
