Late Fees Discussed for Milford Eatery License Renewals
A total of 53 eateries have not yet responded to license renewal letters.

MILFORD, CT — A total of 389 food service establishments received license renewal letters that were due back on the last day of February but 53 are still outstanding, health department officials said, according to March meeting minutes. The renewal letters were sent out in January 2018.
The number of food service establishments includes ball field concession stands, seasonal food licenses and itinerant vendors. Final notices are being sent out this week.
Board of Health Commissioner Ernest Judson asked during a recent meeting if the food establishments incur any additional fees for late renewal. Health officials said there is no late charge. Judson said implementing late fees could generate revenue for the city and Commissioner Christine Gonillo added that a late fee may motivate everyone to renew on time.
