LETTER: Connie Jagodzinski Opposes Toll Study

Connie Jagodzinski called on the State Bond Commission to reject the proposal to spend $10 million on a study to implement tolls.

From Connie for Milford: Connie Jagodzinski , candidate for State Representative in Milford’s 118th District called on the State Bond Commission to reject Governor Malloy’s proposal to spend $10 million on a study to implement tolls throughout Connecticut.

Jagodzinski said: “responding to public pressure during an election year, the legislature refused to consider the Governor’s request for tolls and even a study on tolls. Now the Governor is attempting to bypass the legislature and move this by executive order. This would be the third toll study. The last thing our financially strapped state needs is to waste $10 million dollars on another study.”

Jagodzinski continued: “I’ve visited thousand of households in my district over the last few months and people are overwhelmingly opposed to tolls. Estimates are that most of the toll money, approximately 70%, would come from Connecticut residents. This would be a massive new tax on our state’s already overtaxed population. I will oppose any attempt to implement tolls any year, not just election years.”
