Ludwig “Larry” William Bros

1933 - 2024

Ludwig “Larry” William Bros, age 91, resident of West Haven, CT and Milford, CT. Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at his daughter Laura’s house in Milford, CT with his daughter Laura by his side. Beloved husband of the late Dolores Ann Bros, who he was married to for 58 years. Born on May 4, 1933 in NY, NY, he was the son of the late Ludwig and Margarete Lorenz Bros. Larry is survived by his daughter Laura Bros of Milford, CT with whom he resided for six years and was his full-time caregiver.


Larry was involved in many charitable organizations over the years: Junior Achievement, New Haven Civitan Club (1963-1996), New Haven Lions Club (1997-2024) which included Inter-Service Clubs with his involvement in Camp Cedar Crest (Committee Member Emeritus) in Orange, CT and was also awarded CT “Knight of the Blind” For Dedicated Humanitarian Service, CT Lions Eye Research Foundation, INC. A mechanical engineer, Larry retired from The Southern CT Gas Company in 1992, from his position of Director of Engineering. Larry enjoyed vacationing with his wife, working in his garden, racketball, swimming, reading novels, especially James Patterson, crossword puzzles and crime shows.


Also survived by daughter Linda (John) Bunegru and granddaughter Caitlin Bunegru.
It is with a full heart that Laura would like to thank Linda Heil, Alisa Frissora and Margaret Gaetano for their continued love, support and help. Also a warm and special thanks to the wonderful team at CT Hospice who cared for my father with compassion and gentle hands.

A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00am Graveside at Saint Mary’s Cemetery 315 Buckingham Av, Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the New Haven Lions Club, PO Box 8012, New Haven, CT 06530 or to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405.
