The man is accused of pushing the officer across the street in Downtown Milford into the side of a police vehicle and injuring the officer.
MILFORD, CT — A Wallingford man is accused of assaulting a police officer early Sunday morning in Milford, according to police.
A Milford patrol officer was flagged down by security from Eli’s Tavern on Daniel Street, around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 15. As the officer approached the security guard, police said they saw a man, identified as Trevor Angeletti, physically “squared up to security and yelling at them.”
Angeletti is then accused of attacking and shoving another man who wasn’t involved and happened to be walking by, according to police.

“The officer yelled at Angeletti to get him to stop,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Angeletti then rushed at the officer and pulled back his arm and swung at the officer intending to punch them twice.”
The officer then tried to physically control Angeletti but Angeletti then “pushed the officer across the street into the side of a police vehicle causing the door to cave in,” according to police.

The officer was then knocked to the ground and suffered injuries to both knees, police said.
