Man Brought Stolen Gun To Fight At Milford Bar, Restaurant: Police

A man is facing charges that he brought a gun to a restaurant after a fight broke out in the parking lot, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A man was charged on accusations that he brought a gun to a fight at a bar and restaurant, according to police.

Police responded to a call reporting a fight happening in the parking lot of The Hair of the Dog at 128 Bridgeport Ave. on Nov. 1.

Police responded and were told one of the men involved had a handgun.

Police set up a perimeter and located the man matching the description of the suspect with a handgun inside the restaurant.

Matthew Prosnick, 39, of Bridgeport, is accused of entering the restaurant's kitchen after the fight and hiding a Ruger handgun. The gun was stolen out of Bridgeport, according to police.

Prosnick, a convicted felon, was also found with ammunition, police said.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, and stealing a firearm.

He was held on $100,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court Nov. 4.
