Man Pointed Gun In Victim's Face At Motel: Milford PD

Police seized five handguns and six rifles after the incident, police said.

MILFORD, CT — A Branford man was charged after he pointed a handgun in a person's face at the Motel 6, according to police.

A man heard arguing coming from a hotel room Oct. 14 and knocked on the door to make sure everything was alright, police said. Paul Amarante, 54, opened the door, pointed a handgun in the victim's face and asked who he was, according to police.

The victim fled the scene and called police. Amarante was located in his vehicle in the hotel parking lot. Officers found a black handgun in his waistband and another four handguns and six rifles in his vehicle, police said. He was charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace. Bail was set at $5,000.

A female passenger in the vehicle was charged with violation of probation.
