Man Verbally Threatens To Shoot Victim, Guns Seized: Milford PD

The accused was arrested on a warrant and released after posting a $5,000 bond.

MILFORD, CT — A Milford man is accused of verbally threatening to shoot the victim of a possible domestic violence incident, police said.

On May 12 Milford police responded to an Edgefield Avenue residence on the report of a possible domestic violence incident, police said. The victim reported that Andre Velez, 61, of Edgefield Avenue, threatened to shoot her, police said.

An investigation was conducted and an arrest warrant was obtained for Velez, police said. On May 19 police took custody of Velez in regard to the active warrant for his arrest, police said. A search warrant was also obtained and served at Velez’s residence and numerous firearms were seized, police said.

Police said that Velez made "a verbal threat but (his) hand was on a gun holster that was on his belt."

Velez was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear in Milford Court on May 20.
