Marcia Bryant Grillo, 88 of Old Saybrook, passed away February 27,2025
An active member of the church, skilled knitter, beloved mother & grandmother.

Marcia Bryant Grillo, 88 of Old Saybrook, beloved wife of the late David Grillo Jr., passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. Born on November 26, 1936, in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late William and Charlotte Bryant.
Raised in West Haven, Marcia met the love of her life, David, and married when they were just 19 years old. They fell deeply in love and built a beautiful life together, sharing 65 years of marriage filled with love and laughter. While raising her children she pursued her degree in biology from Quinnipiac College.
Marcia and David lived in North Haven, Guilford, and Orange before retiring to Old Saybrook, where they spent many wonderful years by the shore.

In the 1970’s Marcia was an active member of the North Haven Congregational Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon, later joining the church in Orange.
Marcia and David were passionate Red Sox and UCONN Husky basketball fans. They were also known for their love of dining out, enjoying a daily routine of lunch outings at their favorite local restaurants. In their later years, they traveled extensively, taking an impressive number of cruises and trips to Europe and South America.

A skilled knitter, Marcia crafted beautiful argyle socks, sweaters, and afghans. Every member of the immediate family had a custom-crafted Christmas stocking.
She had a deep affection for animals and was a dedicated supporter of animal rescue organizations. Known for her kind heart and warm spirit, Marcia was a joy to be around—someone who made life brighter for those who knew her.
Above all, she cherished her family. Her children will forever miss their time spent together, laughing and sipping Pinot Grigio.
Marcia is survived by her four beloved children: Laurie Bennett (Walter), Leslie Marinaccio (David), David J. Grillo (Kathleen), and Tara Granfield (Robert). Five cherished grandchildren: Jamie, Alan, Wade, Kendra, and Kaylee. Brother William Bryant, niece Harrison, niece Taylor, and nephew Tanner. As well as many additional beloved family and friends.
Services are to be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Marcia’s love of animals may be made to Branford Compassion Club online at www.BranfordCompassionClub.org
