Massive Affordable Housing Project To Begin: Report

The developer received approval to begin work on the site.

MILFORD, CT — A developer has received approval to begin the initial phase of construction on a 180-unit affordable housing complex at 354-438 Wheelers Farms Road, the Milford Mirror reports.

The city had twice rejected plans but because it's filed under the state's affordable housing statute the city was essentially powerless to stop the project. Basically, all the city could do was slow it down, which is kind of what happened as project plans were first filed in 2015.

The developer is something called Milford Developers, though it's unclear who runs that. The first phase of work, which the city recently approved, includes processing rock and gravel which will take 90 days to complete. There are restrictions on when that work can occur.
