Milford 5th Grader Finalist In CT Kid Governor Race
A Meadowside Elementary School 5th grader is a finalist in Connecticut's kid governor race.

MILFORD, CT — Meadowside Elementary School 5th grader Liliana Magazine is one of seven finalists in the Connecticut Kid Governor program.
Liliana's platform is strengthened literacy for all.
“I am really excited that I get to be part of the Kid Governor Cabinet no matter what," Liliana said in a release. "Even if I don't win, I am still proud of myself and will work hard."

Liliana's teacher, Lauren Aliberti, said she is very proud of her as she works to represent Meadowside and the community.
"She is a strong role model with a passion to include other fifth graders across the state as she works to bring about change in the area of literacy for all," Aliberti said.

Registered 5th grade voters will watch candidate videos and vote on who should be the state's next kid governor. Voting is open through Nov. 15. The winner gets an office at the Old State House in Hartford for a 1-year term and collaborates with remaining candidates who become cabinet members. The program was created in 2015 by the Connecticut Democracy Center.
