Milford Aldermen Approve Plan For Speeding, Red Light Cameras: Report
A measure to add traffic cameras was approved by a city board but will go to public hearing before final approval.

MILFORD, CT — The Board of Aldermen has approved a measure to install cameras in an effort to curb drivers speeding and running red lights, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
Now the measure will go to a public hearing hosted by the police commission. The ordinance will then return to the Board of Aldermen for another vote before being submitted to the state Department of Transportation for approval.
The ordinance is intended to reduce the amount of reckless driving in the city.

The plan calls for placing the devices on Route 1 near the Connecticut Post Mall. The police department is also studying placing speed cameras in school zones along Orange Avenue, Gulf Street, and Merwin Avenue.
