Milford Approves Buying Land for New Police Station: Report

MILFORD, CT — It's finally going to happen, the Milford Police Department will have a new and expanded police headquarters.
Milford Mirror Editor Jill Dion reports that the Board of Aldermen voted this week to bond up to $4.5 million to purchase six acres of land at 130-150 Boston Post Road for a new police station.
The current Milford Police Department headquarters has been lacking space for some time.

According to meeting minutes of the Board of Police Commissioners, Chief Keith Mello commented this Boston Post Road is a great location. He stated the building would be positioned so it would be visible to the general public and something Milford could be proud of. He spoke of the 6 acres the property offers, which Chairman Richard Smith also pointed out.
Mr. Carissimi stated he wished to echo the comments of Chairman Smith and Chief Mello, adding this is a location that can’t be passed up.
