Milford Bank Warns Customers About Scam Calls

The bank said it has received reports from customers about phishing calls that appear to be from the bank.

MILFORD, CT — Milford Bank is warning customers about phone calls from fraudsters.

"It has come to our attention that some customers have received phishing phone calls claiming to be from 'The Milford Bank Security Department,'" the bank wrote in a Facebook post. "Please remember: The Milford Bank will never ask you to share personal or confidential information. If something feels off, hang up and call us directly at (203) 783‑5700."

The bank shared the following tips for customers to protect themselves from phishing attempts:

  • Be cautious of unexpected calls, texts, or emails asking for personal information
  • Never share account numbers, passwords, or verification codes
  • Don’t trust caller ID alone—scammers can spoof phone numbers
  • When in doubt, hang up and contact your bank using a trusted phone number

The warning comes as police departments across the state are advising residents on an uptick in scams.
