MILFORD, CT — Milford's election season is heating and there are plenty of contested races with candidates eager to get their name on the ballot for the city's municipal election. One of those contested races is the race for the Board of Aldermen.

Milford Patch asked candidates in the contested races to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Ray Vitali, 78, is running for Board of Aldermen as a Republican in the fifth-district.

Experience, common sense approach to govern with honesty, integrity and independent thinking.

Independent thinker, aware of the needs of the city, protect our youth, provide the best education possible for our youth and be aware of the financial capabilities of the city.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

My decision making ability along with the analytics that my experience in education and the twelve years of being on the Board Of Alderman has given me a step up in having a better understanding of the needs of the city. Besides the elected positions, my chairmanship on many of the non profits in Milford have provided me with the insight of the many challenges that we are confronting. I’ve served as chair of Bridges Health Care Board Of Directors, Milford Prevention Council, and currently chair the Board Of Directors of the United Way of Milford.

Think before you act , along with some times less is best.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I care very much about the welfare and well being of the citizens of Milford. I will continue to do my best in upholding the honesty and integrity of the office that I will be elected to.
