The Milford Education Foundation Will Paint Your Path!

The Milford Education Foundation is proud, once again, to bring Paint Your Path to the children of The Boys and Girls Club of Milford. The program inspires middle school aged students to innovate through creativity while providing a positive social experience. Skateboards are used as the “canvas” for various unique designs created by the kids while guided by two locally renowned artists, Kiko Hernandez, and Miguel Estrada. The program begins July 8th and runs Tuesday and Thursday for two consecutive weeks.

The kids will be guided by two incredible local artists from the Milford Arts Council: Kiko Hernandez and Miguel Estrada.

Kiko was with the inaugural program last year and observed, "Paint Your Path stimulates a young person's mind about creating something of their own in an unusual place such as a skate board. Being able to have the freedom and resources to experiment is the gateway to exploring art outside of the classroom. It plants the seeds of curiosity."

The finished boards will be displayed at the Milford Arts Council’s Sandcastle Sculpture on August 2 at Walnut Beach.

The Boys and Girls Club of Milford says that the program "embodies everything the Club stands for—empowerment, creativity, and youth development. Paint Your Path gives teens a safe, supportive space to explore who they are and who they want to become. It helps encourage self-expression, resilience, and pride in their individuality."

The Milford Education Foundation seeks to engage students with a life long love of
learning, with a special focus on creativity and innovation. Since 2013, MEF has piloted
and funded innovative educational experiences and programs that would not otherwise
