Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

In her career, she had and continues to always put her students first. She had also run 4 different clubs and also 3 camps over the course of her career, dedicating Friday nights and some Saturdays to these programs. Regardless of what happens in her life, she approaches every school today with a positive mindset and a smile on her face. If you ask her if she has kids, her response is always, “I have 100+ children.”

Ms. Richiski is also one that holds “No Judgements” to the highest regard. What you may be going through, whether internally or externally, she never made a judgement on you, only supported. Unfortunately, that is a needle in a haystack at times in school systems. There is no other like Ms. Richiski. She is the epitome of a teacher. While popularity is not what makes the “best teacher” I am happy and proud that the Milford Patch is taking the opportunity to recognize the teachers in our community that may get overlooked. As Karl A. Menninger once said, “What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches.”

Thank you, Ms Richiski for all that you have done and continue to do for the community . Your endless efforts, compassion and dedication do not go unnoticed.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

Ms. Richiski puts her students first before anything. Students are more willing to learn from a teacher that genuinely shows respect and support for one’s students.
